Dean Bulloch/Karl Munford Score
Victory in UROC Pro National Season Finale
Cedar City, Utah – (August
16, 2005) Dean Bulloch and his teammate, Karl Munford
arrived to the small mountain town bordering Utah and
Colorado in search of victory and that is exactly what
they accomplished late Saturday afternoon. Capitalizing
on momentum from their previous win at the UROC event
held in Portland, Indiana, this dynamic duo positioned
themselves for victory in the final competition of the
UROC Pro National Series season.
Battling
head-to-head with Lovell Racing, Bulloch and Munford
were not a bit rattled by finishing the regular competition
in second position several points out of the lead. With
the main event still ahead of them there was much work
yet to be done. The natural rocks of the Uinta Mountains
offered challenges that teams have rarely seen this
season. Competing on three man-made courses and one
other natural course in the 2005 season, the challenge
of Mother Nature’s natural terrain made this win
even sweeter.
“For
over twenty years Karl and I have been involved in a
variety of top motorsports competitions and we don’t
get anxious to easily. That final obstacle wasn’t
easy by any means, and we’ll, we just did what
we always strive for and that was to keep cool and implement
our tactical strategy. We ended up on top once again.
Crawling that last steep wedge was complicated, however
our BFG Krawlers again led the way to a national win,”
said Bulloch.
Throughout
the two-day competition Bulloch exemplified his winning
ways performing maneuvers that other teams were simply
amazed by. “Dean Bulloch, also known as the "Iceman"
is notorious for calm nerves under pressure,”
said UROC Series Champion - Brad Lovell.
In
the final obstacle, Bulloch drove his Suzuki Samurai
with perfection executing driving skills that have rarely
been matched by anyone in this growing motorsport. Munford
positioned Bulloch for his final assault up the steep
wedge who then crawled it with ease claiming victory
high atop the rock pile.
“Coming
into this final season ending event we knew we were
not in the position to capture the season point’s
championship, however we were fairly confident that
if things went well we could take the win. This win
marks our sixth win of the season if you combine all
the series in professional rockcrawling. With the World
Extreme Championships and Supercrawl around the corner,
we feel we’re in a good position for a title run
at both of those championships,” commented Munford.
This
series ending victory placed the team on the podium
in third place for the UROC Pro National Series Points
Championship. Currently, On Track Krawler Team leads
the point’s championship race in the World Extreme
Series which culminates in late September in Wendover,
Nevada.
On
Track Krawler Team® heads to the final event of
the World Extreme Series in Wendover, Nevada on September
23-25, 2005.
